THAILAND - The Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa), with a membership of over 2,600 corporate members ranging from MNCs to SMEs in the country’s manufacturing sector, is here with more than 10 Singaporean companies at the Singapore Pavilion in Propak Asia 2007, held in BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand, from 13 – 16 June.

Describing SMa as ‘the voice of the manufacturing industry’, Dennis Toh, Manager, Industry Development Division, SMa, said, “We are here to represent the packaging industry in Singapore and to help our member companies internationalise their businesses and offer their products and services beyond Singapore to the entire Asian region.

“South East Asia, with its population of 300 million, presents many opportunities for Singapore companies. And we have been well-received because of the quality of our products, and our ability to meet international standards.”

Dennis said that he hoped the SMa member companies exhibiting at Propak Asia will be able to demonstrate their expertise and knowledge and, through new business deals, help ‘upgrade our partners in the region’.

“Although we have not gathered all the feedback from the exhibiting Singapore companies yet, I think response at Propak Asia has been good on the whole. It’s only Day Two and I’m sure that by the end of the exhibition, we’ll really be able to further build the Singapore brand name in the Thai processing and packaging industry.”
