Cheng Loong orders Valmet paper mill

One of the largest papermakers in Taiwan, Cheng Loong Co. has ordered a corrugating machine from Valmet. The machine, to be known as PM7, will be installed in the company’s Hou-Li mill and will be started up in March 1996. This order is very significant as it includes several new technical features, for example, a new type of gap former – Speed Former P – developed by Valmet for containerboard grades. The tampere production unit in Finland will supply a hydraulic headbox Sym – Flo G, a Speed Former P and a Sym-Sizer size press. It will also be responsible for erection supervision, start-up and training. Valmet-Karlstad in Sweden will supply the press section with a Sym-Belt shoe press and a LNP press. Valmet Air Systems in Pansio, Finland, will deliver runnability components for the dryer section. The machine will be manufactured in cooperation with Yue Li Machinery Co. of Taiwan, and has a wire width is 6900mm and the design speed is 800m/mm. The machine will make corrugating medium using 100% recycled fibre.
