ASIA - GL&V will supply a major Chinese pulp producer with two complete fibre processing systems, to be delivered to mills in China and Vietnam.

Groupe Laperriere & Verreault (GL&V)’s Pulp and Paper Group was recently awarded a second large-scale contract by a major Chinese pulp producer to design, manufacture and deliver two new-generation fibre processing systems.

The contract, at a total order value of over US$18.6 million, involves two complete fibre processing systems, consisting of 14 Compaction Baffle Wash Presses and various other state-of-the-art screening, and bleaching equipment, including DUALOX(TM) oxygen delignification, and DUFLO(TM) medium consistency pumps, which will be delivered by May 2008 to mills currently in construction in China and Vietnam

Richard Verreault, President and Chief Operating Officer, GL&V, said, "The past two years have been very constructive for the Pulp and Paper Group. It has expanded its product offering by acquiring high-performance technologies in order to offer customers increasingly comprehensive value-added solutions adapted to new trends in demand worldwide.

“For instance, the acquisition of Perplas, KanEng, the J&L Refiner rebuild business and the Huyck dewatering equipment business broadened its portfolio of aftermarket products and services, whereas the December 2006 purchase of certain Kvaerner and Metso technologies provided it with know-how that positions it among the world leaders in complete pulp processing systems.

“This group has indeed achieved significant progress in recent quarters in developing and optimizing its international outsourcing organization," he concluded.

Founded in 1975, GL&V is a market provider of liquid/solid separation technologies used in a large number of industrial, municipal and environmental processes who has its headquarters in Canada and offices globally. The Pulp and Paper Group specializes in the design and marketing of equipment used in various stages of pulp and paper production, notably pulp preparation and sheet formation, and is a recognized leader in rebuilding, upgrading and optimization services for existing pulp and paper equipment. GL&V also has a group called GL&V Manufacturing, which specializes in the production of large custom-made parts for external customers involved mainly in the pulp and paper and energy sectors, as well as GL&V's other units.
