VIETNAM – Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd has constructed a new paper manufacturing plant in Vietnam. Test runs are expected to be conducted in June 2016, with operations commencing by August.
The Vietnam plant will focus on producing packaging paper. According to Lee & Man’s chief executive Lee Man Bun, the company intends to sell the products at prices 15% higher that produced in China; he said profits in Vietnam will be higher than in the mainland as there is a lot less competition there.
Currently, Lee & Man has five plants in China – located in Dongguan Huangyong, Guangdong Hongmei, Jiangsu Changshu, Chongqing Yongchuan and Jiangxi Jiujiang. The Hong Kong-listed company manufactures linerboards of various grades and corrugating medium of different specifications used for different industrial packaging purposes.
