Chinese Anhui Shanying Paper invests in two containerboard machines

CHINA – Anhui Shanying Paper Industry Co Ltd is expanding its production capacity by approximately 2,920 tonnes daily with its investment in two containerboard machines from Metso Corporation.
One of the largest paper and board producers in the Anhui province in China, Anhui Shanying Paper currently has an annual capacity of 900,000 tonnes of kraftliner. This capacity investment will help the Shanghai-listed company further strengthen its presence in the Mainland.
One of the containerboard machines to be installed and scheduled to start is in the second quarter of 2013 is the PM 6. Equipped with two winders, it utilizes gap technology which enables a new, higher production speed category for board. The production speed will be 1,500 m/min. PM 6 will produce fluting and testliner grades in the basis weight range of 50 –110 g/m2.
The second machine installation is for Metso’s PM5, which is equipped with three headboxes. With a production speed will be 1,100 m/min, the line will produce kraftliner and testliner grades in the basis weight range of 90 –175 g/m2. The PM5 is scheduled to begin operating in the third quarter of 2013.
While the total investment cost of the two machines were not revealed, the typical value of such a similar order varies from EUR100 to 150 million depending on the scope of delivery and the production capacity, according to Metso.
