Aptar Pharma opens second Asian plant in India

INDIA – Aptar Pharma, manufacturer of aerosol, spray and dispensing systems to biotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, has opened a new manufacturing site near Mumbai, to support customers’ growth in the pharmaceutical market in India.
The US-headquartered company officially inaugurated the plant - Aptar Pharma’s second production facility in Asia - on 21 January 2012 in Rabale, Navi Mumbai.
The site includes an ISO 7 cleanroom where main production will focus on the DF30 metering valve platform for pMDIs and on spray pump assembly.
The company says that the new facility will be key to furthering Aptar Pharma’s commitment to provide world-class quality products coupled with the “outstanding responsiveness requested by our Indian customers”.
“With the launch of the second Aptar Pharma manufacturing site in Asia, after Suzhou in China, we are on track to meet our main objective of better serving Indian customers by providing locally manufactured devices,” said Marc Prieur, president of Aptar Pharma Asia.
“This state-of-the-art manufacturing site, along with a highly skilled local team, shows Aptar Pharma’s strong commitment to the Indian pharmaceutical industry.”
Besides its Asian plants in China and India, Aptar Pharma also has manufacturing sites in North America, Europe and South America.
