Automatic Cosmetic Wrapping Machine from Takana Tekko
11 March 1997

Japan - Wrapping cosmetics in Japan is still primarily done by hand. Takama Tekko has developed an automatic cosmetic wrapping machine which is able to wrap between 5 to 12 cosmetic packages per minute.

By placing the wrapping paper in its set position and pushing the "start" button, the paper holder turns. A foot switch controls the supply of paper.

The paper holder can hold paper up to 650mm in length and 250mm thick. The smallest size paper it can hold is 50mm in length and 40mm thick.

The machine has an adjustment handle for manual over-ride. The machine itself is 5m long x 1.9m wide x 1.5m high. Paper packages are used in a variety of industries, however, since cosmetic packaging is mostly done by hand, expansion in this area is greatly anticipated.
