Flexo Image Graphics to distribute Xeikon digital press solutions in India

INDIA – Flexo Image Graphics (FIC) has won a contract to distribute Belgium digital printing equipment supplier Xeikon’s solutions to the label and packaging printing market in India.

Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix, and Indian sales and service solutions supplier FIC have announced a distribution partnership that will help strengthen Xeikon’s network in the digital label printing and folding carton markets on the Indian Sub-Continent.

FIC, a sales and service support company established in 2000, has three nodal offices located in the business hubs of Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.

Under the terms of the distribution agreement, FIC will support Xeikon in the label and packaging printing market, by providing sales and service support for the Xeikon 3000 family of digital presses as well as Xeikon’s finishing, workflow and substrate solutions for the label market.

According to Xeikon’s International Channel Director Hans Gerinckx, the next few years hold significant market opportunities in India. “With an annual growth rate of 30%, the label market in India – followed closely by the folding market – is rapidly becoming a very important market for us,” said Gerinckx. “Xeikon wants to strengthen its presence in these industrial markets through the alliance with Flexo Image Graphics – an experienced and respected partner who knows the business extremely well.”

Gourav Roy, Managing Director at Flexo Image Graphics believes Xeikon offers printing solutions that large label converters in India are sourcing for. “Being in the label printing market for almost a decade, we closely monitor new trends and expectations of our customers.

“During a recent market survey, we identified that large label converters are looking for high quality, short run applications,” Roy noted. “So we wanted to work with a partner who could deliver excellent print quality for short runs – and who scores better than competing products on productivity and cost effectiveness. The only name that came to mind was Xeikon."

The Xeikon 3000 family of digital printers is suitable for self-adhesive label production, heat transfer printing for products such as plastic containers, and folding cartons. Combined with the broad array of substrates usable with these presses, it is a very flexible portfolio of digital label solutions. The Xeikon 3000 family consists of three models: the Xeikon 3030, the base model that makes it easy for companies to enter the digital label market; the Xeikon 3050 for converters that require a slightly wider printing width; and the Xeikon 3300, a high-volume label press built for use with the most commonly used web width, but also able to handle a web width as small as 200 mm (7.9 inches).
