CHINA – The Chinese State Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a new ‘green’ technical standard for both flexo and gravure printing ink which is now in effect across the country. Under the the new standard, known as “Technical requirement for environmental labelling products: Gravure and flexible printing ink” (HJ/T371-2007) has been introduced to ‘reduce the effects of the inks at production, use and management stages’ on packaging on the people and the environment.
