THAILAND – Swiss packaging systems manufacturer, Bosch, has unveiled a new easy open flow wrap system mainly intended for the confectionary market. Unlike traditional chocolate bars which have a tap-strip or nicked tear-opening, the Pull Pack, literally pulls apart.
Winner of a World Packaging Organisation WorldStar 2006 Award for
innovation, the Pull Pack Module, according to Mattias Stamm, General
Manager Sales, South East Asia, China and the Pacific for Bosch,
Sigpack Systems, “Is an attachment which can be fitted to any of their
HSM flow wrap machines and uses conventional cold seal film.
“The attachment has an additional perforating knife which cuts the film horizontally and an additional gluing station.
“Once perorated the film passes around a vacuum roll, which maintains
the tension stability in the film, which once perforated would tear
under pressure. A sealing mechanism then re-seals the perforation/
“The film is now prepared and it is returned to the normal filling and wrapping line”.
A simple concept which brings Swiss technology to provide a unique easy open process to chocolate.
